A Curious Collection

It’s not every day one has the chance to gaze upon a Sigmund Freud bobble head. Or an action figure. Or a framed T-shirt. But take a step into John Paulson’s office in the Education Center, and you’ll have a chance to encounter all three. But an odd collection of items centered around the well-known psychoanalyst isn't the only treasure in Paulson's office.

The Strong Voices of the Staff Council

On the University of Southern Indiana’s campus, there are three government agency that work on the behalf of the three employee groups—Administrative Senate, Faculty Senate and Staff Council. Each not only works on behalf of their specific set of employees, but also for all of the University. In the spring, the Staff Council concluded their elections, welcoming new and returning representatives as well as thanking outgoing members for their service.

Experiencing new places and cultures is something Dr. David Hitchcock, Chair of the World Languages and Cultures Department and Professor of Spanish, has found interesting from a very young age. Completing his 16th year at the University, Hitchcock continues to share his passion for the Spanish language and culture with students on campus.
