Come live and learn with other students majoring in the College of Nursing and Health Professions! If you’re interested in a health-related career and helping others, this is your LLC. You’ll take common first-year courses together and explore health-related majors. Find study buddies and relax with your friends as you meet the challenges of your chosen field.
Students in the LLC will take your UNIV 101 First Year Experience class together. This is a Core 39 required class. You will also take both semesters of Anatomy & Physiology as a cohort (BIOL 121/122). This class is required for most majors in the College of Nursing and Health Professions.
In addition, you'll be able to choose from a wide-range of LLC sections in classes such as Public Speaking, Art, History, Psychology, Career Planning, Geography, Hiking, and much more! You will join with students from other LLCs to take the classes that work best for YOUR schedule, for YOUR major, and for YOUR interests.
LLC Signature Experiences:
Your LLC activities will be fun AND focused on your careers in Nursing and Health Professions. Come bake and decorate cookies shaped like organs and bones. You'll have an etiquette dinner and learn how to network. Commiserate with your friends during study sessions for Anatomy & Physiology and learn about stress relief during the times you need it most. Get hands-on experience in the Clinical Simulation Center and attend the campus wellness fair. You'll meet USI faculty and local health professionals, too!
Ms. Beth Thompson is your LLC Mentor!
"With every new year I am amazed at the skills, abilities, and talents the new group of students bring to our community, the College of Nursing and Health Profession’s LLC. Working in healthcare is personally and professionally challenging so your time at USI, in this learning environment, is a great start to prepare you for what lies ahead. Being a successful student is important, but what also happens, is that students build lasting friendships! How cool is that? I love all sports and have been known to rearrange appointments so that I do not miss televised events!"
