Fall 2021 Alumni Association Scholarships

The USI Alumni Association provides the following scholarship opportunities for students who meet the qualifications noted below. 

Leadership Award
Amount: $1,500 one-time award
Application Deadline: March 31, 2021

Criteria

• Graduating senior attending an Indiana high school
• Show extensive leadership qualities
• Be in the upper 20 percent of graduating class

Required application documents:

• Application
• Resume (list and description of your participation in school, community and church-related leadership and service roles)
• High school transcript
• Two letters of recommendation giving evidence of leadership potential (one from school personnel and one from non-school personnel)
• An essay of approximately 200 words on one of the following topic:
  • Your goals in life
  • The leadership role, person or event that has influenced you most

Legacy Scholarship
Amount: $1,500 annual award
Application Deadline: March 31, 2021

Criteria

• 3.5 cumulative high school GPA or higher
• Have a parent/guardian or grandparent that graduated from USI

Required application documents:

• Application
• Resume that includes academic honors/achievements, extra-curricular activities and work experience
• High school transcript
• 300 to 500-word essay responding to the question: "Who is your legacy connection to USI, and how has that individual impacted your life?" (You may have multiple legacy connections

Greater Indianapolis Scholarship
Amount: $750 annual award
Application Deadline: March 12, 2021

Criteria

• 3.25 cumulative high school GPA or higher
• Graduating senior from a high school in the following counties in Indiana: Boone, Brown, Hancock, Hamilton, Hendricks, Johnson, Marion, Morgan, Putnam or Shelby

Required application documents:

• High school transcript
• 200 word-essay in response to one of the following questions:
  • Why are you interested in pursuing higher education?
  • What course of study do you plan to pursue and why?

Dubois County Scholarship
Amount: $500 one-time award
Application Deadline: March 12, 2021

Criteria

• 3.0 cumulative high school GPA or higher
• Graduating senior from a high school in Dubois County, Indiana

• 200 word-essay in response to one of the following questions:
  • Why are you interested in pursuing higher education?
  • What course of study do you plan to pursue and why?
